At Millie’s Place, we believe that every child is capable, every voice is valuable, and every learner deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

We are more than a school—we are a movement.

Millie’s Place was born from love and built with purpose: a purpose to reimagine education through the lens of inclusion, equity, and personalized learning. Inspired by our daughter Millie, who has Down syndrome, we created this space to ensure that children of all abilities learn and thrive together in a community grounded in compassion, innovation, and joy.

Our Mission

Millie’s Place is a nonprofit, inclusive primary school serving children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. We promote academic, social, and emotional growth through personalized instruction, inclusive practices, and research-based strategies that honor the unique strengths and needs of every child.

We believe that belonging is the foundation for becoming—and when children feel like they truly belong, they soar.

What Makes Us Different

Here’s how we do school differently at Millie’s Place:

• Personalized Learning Paths
  Each child has a dynamic, evolving learning plan tailored to their interests, needs, and pace. We meets our students where they are based on a wide variety of data sources and work from there.

• Mastery-Based Progression
  Students move forward when they’re ready—not when the calendar says it’s time.

• Inclusive Classrooms
  Neurodivergent and neurotypical children learn side by side in a community of care, collaboration, and mutual respect.

• Project-Based Learning & Real-World Connection
  Kids don’t just learn about the world—they actively engage with it through hands-on projects that matter. We also call these “authentic learning experiences”.

• Whole Child Focus
  We nurture not just academic growth, but the social emotional development (SEL) that empowers children to thrive in everyday life.

As we prepare to open our doors in Fall 2026, our goals are clear and rooted in purpose:

1. Create a joyful, inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, challenged, and known.

2. Empower educators and families with tools and support to personalize learning in meaningful ways.

3. Serve as a model for inclusive education—a space that proves what’s possible when we lead with heart and high expectations.

4. Build a community of change makers who believe that equity, access, and belonging should be the foundation of every school.
